{PR} Butter London Jelly Preserves: New Shades for 2021

Happy Wednesday! I can’t pour you a nice, relaxing cup of tea through the internet sadly, but I can share some nail polish. Or at least some pictures of nail polish. Butter London sent me their new Jelly Preserve shades and I thought I would share them here. These are super sheer jelly polishes and this time around Butter London is adding a shade with an orange tint and one with a green tint. If you want to see the first two shades, yep, I have a blog post for that! As a bonus, this time around I even wore one of them for ten days. You guys know I NEVER do wear tests because I’m a crazy nail person, but I managed to pull it off on my right hand. These polishes are meant to be treatments to help nourish and strengthen your natural nails. The index nail on my right hand is a particular problem for me (or, more likely, I’m just a problem for it) and I thought I would see what these could do for me.

Butter London Spring 2021 {PR}

This week is a very wonderful week. I’m getting my first vaccine dose ON THURSDAY!!! I seriously have never been this excited to get a vaccine in my life; I truly hate needles and usually dread these occasions, but I am willing to do whatever I can to help. The second wonderful thing is that we are talking about Butter London’s new spring collection, which they very kindly sent me. I almost did a happy dance when I opened the package, good stuff people, good stuff! The four new polishes are all part of their patent shine line and excitingly, there is a lighter green, which I don’t think they had anything like in the patent shine collection until now, and a new topper. I’m way too happy about this, let’s just get into the swatches because you know there’s going to be some blabbing.

Butter London Jelly Preserves

*The polishes featured in this post were gifted to me by Butter London. I am under no obligation to review them. All opinions are my own.*

I got a mystery package in the mail and was seriously wondering whether I should open it or not… USPS had lost a previous package of mine and I thought there was a longshot chance that was it. Upon finally opening it… goodies from Butter London! I was, of course, sad that it was not my long lost package but that sadness was quickly dashed by the appearance of the cheerful packaging. I have seen the new Jelly Preserve polishes/treatments on Instagram and hadn’t purchased them yet because I don’t think I am the target audience for them. But, put the bottles in my hands and you know that I’m going to give them a go! I actually don’t own any true jelly polishes that never get opaque on their own nor do I own any treatment type polishes that aren’t for hardening, so these are truly unique in my collection. Other brands have done these tinted treatments before, OPI and Essie come to mind. Butter London is cruelty-free, so perhaps there is a niche for these that needs to be filled in the cruelty-free market! I both polishes on their own for you today and then got creative with a good ol’ jelly sandwich. Remember when those were super popular? Always love rediscovering old nail polish community crazes!

Butter London Glazen: Mermaid + Oil Slick Swatch & Review

Long time, no see! I have worked on at least three different posts before this one and scrapped them all. I know, you’re probably surprised that I have standards, but just know I have the ability to produce worse content than what you’ve seen!

If you’re reading this on the Sunday that this post is published, then you will be reading this while I am in Las Vegas, and what better way to celebrate that than with flashy polishes? Butter London added some new polishes to their Glazen line (the ones with the gold caps) earlier this year and I grabbed the two most interesting ones. Both Mermaid and Oil Slick are completely unique to my collection and fantastic additions to Butter London’s line. I really feel like we are getting a good taste of the polishes Butter London are capable of, harkening back to the time of more unique treasures like Two Fingered Salute and Inky Six. Butter London is getting their groove back (or maybe they never lost it).

Butter London + Pantone 2018 Nail Lacquers Swatch & Review

Butter London and Pantone have become the best of friends over the past couple years and I believe we are all the better for it. I love any reason for Butter London to give us a new collection, and when it is a collection consisting entirely of purples, sign me the hell up! I am known to favor blues and greens, but purples (also in the cool-toned family) are also a favorite of mine. Purple used to be my ultimate favorite color. I had a purple backpack, purple TI-84 calculator, a collection of purple pens, numerous purple scarves, and my first favorite nail polish was a purple from Sinful Colors. I think it was called Noel or Noelle. I wish I still had it. No need to dwell over lost purple polishes, though, when we could be looking at the six new purples Butter London has graced our nails with this year. I have them all for you, so sit down, turn on some Prince to get yourself in the mood, and let’s go!

Butter London Fall Duo 2017: Swatch & Review

Butter London Fall Duo 2017

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and, no, it’s not Christmas, it’s FALL!!! This summer has been way too gosh dang hot and smoky, due to all the forest fires raging about the state. I think I was over it in August. The weather has noticeably cooled and my hands have started drying out, and yet I am walking on cloud nine. The crisp mornings. The changing leaves. The fall nail colors, which is why y’all are here. Butter London has been fairly consistently releasing a duo-pack of Patent Shine lacquers since at least last fall when I reviewed a set. It’s (more) reasonably priced at $25 for the duo (considering that the Patent Shines are normally $18 individually) and if you wait until there’s coupon code, even more savings! This fall they have supplied us with a purple and a grey, much like last year, but in much darker shades. Mmmm, delicious!

Butter London + Pantone Refresh collection: Swatch & Review

I will be honest, I do not usually give a flying fudgesicle about the Pantone color of the year. In fact, I did not know it was even a thing until I entered the nail polish world. Though I’m pretty sure it actually has little to do with nail polish and more to do with home decor?  Anyhoo, when Butter London decides to team up with Pantone and Pantone decides that bright green is going to be their color of the year, suddenly I’m their biggest fan, some of my money disappears, and this cute little collection is sitting pretty in my greedy little hands. I have to say, it looks simple but this is a fantastic set of polishes. The colors may not be the most creative or wildly unique, but the formulas. Oh. My. I always enjoy swatching and painting my nails, but working with this particular collection was a pure joy and put me in a very happy place. Please do yourself a favor and check these out!

Red-y for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is not my favorite of the holidays. It leaves me with a bit of a weird feeling, like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day do – shouldn’t we tell the people we love that we love them all the time? Does there really need to be a special day for it? I also am not big on the color scheme – pink and red are not my ultimate favorites. But I do like the chocolate. Any excuse to buy and eat chocolate, right? Even though I am pretty apathetic towards it, I figured I should do something semi-festive here for Valentine’s Day. Since pink was out of the question, I decided to round up some of my favorite reds for you all. Like I said, it is not my favorite color, but I do have quite a few red polishes that I love.

Post-Holiday Winter Color Palette (Butter London edition)

Winter nail polish collection releases seem to disproportionately focus on the holidays. But the holidays are only a small part of winter, whose chilly weather and overcast skies we still get to enjoy for a few more months (well, enjoy if you’re weird like me). I want to share some of my favorite colors to wear during the winter after the holidays. I decided to pull polishes from my Butter London collection to exemplify the types of polishes I will be rocking in January, February, and for a bit of March. Butter London does not strike me as particularly wintery or anything, I just happen to have a lot of Butter Londons that fit my theme!

All swatches are shown over Zoya Get Even base coat and are topped with Seche Vite.

Butter London Fall 2016 Colour Duo: Swatch and Review

Hey everyone! I am quite excited about today’s post, because I am finally talking about one of my favorite nail polish brands of all time: Butter London! I don’t know what it is about Butter London – their quirky British names, the beautiful and sometimes odd colors they release, or the gorgeous packaging that is just screaming to have a vanity to sit on – but something about their polishes just ticks all my boxes. It is my goal to own them all – at least all the polishes in colors I actually like! A while back they promoted this duo of lacquers for a special price. I believe it was around $22-$24 for both (I cannot find the email, hence the uncertainty). They also had some other discount going on and ground shipping is free in the US so my weak self grabbed them. I thought it was a good deal, even though I stupidly did not realize until I got them that these polishes are from the Patent Shine 10x line, which makes it an even better deal ($18 a bottle vs. $15 for their regular lacquer). I had never tried the Patent Shine 10x lacquers until now. Read on to see what I think!
