Butter London Fall 2016 Colour Duo: Swatch and Review

fallduo

Hey everyone! I am quite excited about today’s post, because I am finally talking about one of my favorite nail polish brands of all time: Butter London! I don’t know what it is about Butter London – their quirky British names, the beautiful and sometimes odd colors they release, or the gorgeous packaging that is just screaming to have a vanity to sit on – but something about their polishes just ticks all my boxes. It is my goal to own them all – at least all the polishes in colors I actually like! A while back they promoted this duo of lacquers for a special price. I believe it was around $22-$24 for both (I cannot find the email, hence the uncertainty). They also had some other discount going on and ground shipping is free in the US so my weak self grabbed them. I thought it was a good deal, even though I stupidly did not realize until I got them that these polishes are from the Patent Shine 10x line, which makes it an even better deal ($18 a bottle vs. $15 for their regular lacquer). I had never tried the Patent Shine 10x lacquers until now. Read on to see what I think!

Sinful Colors Guise and Ghouls: My Picks Swatch & Review

guiseandghouls

I did not intend to purchase a single Halloween polish this year. In fact, I did not intend to purchase a single polish at all this month, but that certainly did not happen. Hello, my name is Ashley and I am an addict. The polish that got me was Sinful Colors Nice Guise. From the comparison shots that Gingerly Polished has, it looks like a dead-on dupe for China Glaze Blue Ya! which I had wanted, but not badly enough to purchase online. Once I found a Walgreens that actually had this collection and grabbed that Nice Guise, two other polishes somehow ended up in hands. Funny how that happens! I am not really upset with myself though, because the Halloween polishes I picked up are not super Halloween-y. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Halloween, but I also love having polishes that I feel like I can wear all year round. Now, nothing should stop you from rocking a skull and cross bones mani in July, but I’m a seasonal polish wearer; I have many completely unecessary self-induced rules about what to wear and when to wear it. These all would be right at home in a straight-up fall collection in my eyes. Read on to see if you agree.

OPI Fall 2016 Washington D.C.: The Greens Swatch & Review

opigreens

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I absolutely adore green and blue nail polish. I go crazy for them. Any time any collection is released or any time I’m looking at a display in a store, 99 out of 100 times I’ll say, “Ooo that’s a pretty color,” as I’m staring down a sparkling emerald or a majestic cobalt blue. So just imagine my reaction when I saw that OPI included two beautiful greens in their recent fall collection. Two greens?!?!? Unheard of. I was feeling very blessed by the polish gods. Things got even better when I saw that one of the Ulta exclusives in the Washington D.C. collection was yet another lovely green. Be still my heart! Of course, all three have made themselves nice and cozy in my collection. Today I’m going to give you an in-depth look at OPI’s three newest greens: Suzi – The First Lady of Nails, Stay Off the Lawn!!, and Front Runner, the Ulta exclusive. I have swatches and a couple of comparisons for you below.
