First Impressions: Fair Maiden Polish

Fair Maiden Snake Charmer, 2-3 coats plus top coat

Hello friends, it is once again time for me to share an experience with a new-to-me brand. This week I am talking about Fair Maiden Polish! It has been some slow going getting this post up. I first bought this polish in the spring of 2016, then it sat prettily in my stash itching to get on my nails until fall of the same year. Only now is it seeing the light of day on this blog! Oops.

I have been intrigued by Fair Maiden polish for awhile; the name “Fair Maiden” grabs my attention because it sounds medieval-y (I am a medieval history nut) and they have a really good reputation on a lot of blogs that I read. So I grabbed this beautiful green, Snake Charmer, when I was putting in an order at Color4Nails to see the quality for myself. Read on to see my experience!

CND Peacock Plume, 2 coats plus top coat

Hola amigos, I have a short and sweet post for you today! CND has made a long-awaited arrival in my first impressions series. This polish has been sitting in my stash for MONTHS. When I saw swatches of CND’s fall release last year, I was drooling over Peacock Plume. But, for the full price of $10.5o I said no thanks. However, when I found it this year in Ulta’s discount bin for the price of $3.87 I said HELL YES. How did I get on with this beauty? Read on to see!

First Impressions: L’Oréal Le Vernis à L’Huile

Before I left for a trip to the UK in July, I compiled a list of nail polish lines and brands not currently available in the US that I knew I wanted to check out while there. These beautiful polishes with an extremely long name topped the list. I will admit, I wanted to try this polish not because I was interested in the new formula or because there were wildly unique colors available, but because the bottle is one of the prettiest things I have ever seen. If I had a vanity, this would be permanently sitting out on it. But besides the beautiful presentation, what is so special about this polish? Read on!

First Impressions: a-england

a-england Saint George, 2 coats plus top coat

I have not tried many indie polish brands and I am on a quest to change that! Earlier this year I picked up a-england Saint George and only now have gotten around to wearing this beauty. Many things about a-england have intrigued me, most importantly their beautiful polishes but also the inspiration behind them. I love literature, classics, history, mythology, art… all things that have inspired various a-england collections! They are very consistently praised about their quality. All of these things lead to my purchase of this particular polish, which seems to be one of “the” a-england colors. I could not be happier with this polish and am already itching to try more. Read on to see why!

First Impressions: Lottie London

Lottie London Stand Out, 2 coats plus top coat

Hello everyone! For my first post, I want to discuss my first impression of Lottie London polish, a brand that is new to me. I picked up a bottle at Superdrug while I was in the UK during July. There were so many beautiful colors to choose from and I seriously struggled between a beautiful cerulean blue and this lovely, warm gold-to-green duochrome, Stand Out. Since I absolutely cannot resist gold-to-green polishes (they remind me of Ancient Egypt, one of my obsessions), I had to grab Stand Out. I realize that a metallic duochrome is perhaps not the best kind of polish to try out for an overall first impression of the brand, but this is what I got so this what we’re going to work with!
